V.Friends S3: When BTS Play a Skit

This week mission is a free mission. So I won’t post something related to K-Culture. But instead, I will review my favorite episode in VLive that related to KPop. The reason why I download a VApp is actually because of BTS. They are my favorite boy group that was introduced by my bestfriend.

As I mentioned in my previous post, almost all KPop group have a channel in VLive, so does BTS. Every Tuesday  in VLive, BTS has a special program. That is BTS RUN or BTS GAYO. This time I’ll review one of my favorite episodes on BTS RUN.

BTS came back in VLive for new season of BTS RUN after 6 months of last season. The title of this new season is still the continuation of the last episode. That wass BTS RUN Ep 11. BTS RUN is a program, where BTS is given a mission to do something. The mission could be playing role for a skit or playing other games.

In this episode they appeared in a classroom for playing a skit or mini comedy drama as students. The roles for each member were decided by picking up the paper in a glass. It was actually Jongkook, who ended up deliver the paper for each member. Surprisingly, the role for each member was really fit to the personality of the member in real life.

The sexy brain Rap Monster (Rapmon) played a role as a slow-witted student. He explained that his role was really fit to his trainee period. V got a role as the smartest student in the class, while Jimin played as a classroom leader who has an angelic smile. The oldest hyung Jin, played as the most handsome and popular student. Jungkook played as a cold but kind-hearted student and JHope played as a sensitive student was into literature. The last but least, the most anticipated appearance was Suga. He played as a GIRL transfer student. Yup A GIRL!

In this skit, only the roles and main theme were scripted, the dialogs and how they act was developed by BTS itself. So, before started the skit, they discussed about how and the order of the members to seduce Suga, who will play as a hard-to-get girl.

The skit started by the entering of the classroom leader, Jimin introducing the transfer student, Min Yoongi (Suga’s real name). Suga’s appearance as a girl will really shock you. He was truly so beautiful that made you feel failed as a girl. He looked exactly like a girl, if only his man’s gesture wasn’t there. At the end of VLive, Jimin even mentioned that Suga looked beautiful.

In this skit, all members were trying so hard to immerse into their characters that they way they shocked by the Suga’s beauty were so funny. The first member who started to seduce Suga was Rapmon. He tried hard to be like such an “idiot” student. However his act was interrupted by the smartest student, V, because he wanted to teach Suga English. The third one was Jungkook, who acted to become a cool boy by giving Suga his Jacket.

JHope then appeared by reading a poem for Suga. He even made artificial tears to be more emotional. His act became much funnier when he poured a bottle of water for his fake tears and Suga added by splashing him water unexpectedly. In my opinion, JHope’s act was the funniest, even it made other members burst into laugh.

Furthermore, Jimin then tried to seduce Suga, sadly he couldn’t finish his act because Suga refused him to come and he didn’t know what to do. Then Jimin pleased Jin to start his act.

About the Suga’s act in this skit, all his responses to the members’ dialogs were so slay that made the members taken aback. This is what made him funnier with everything he said.

After the skit ended, BTS shared their thoughts on playing the skit. Suga revealed that his appearance as a girl looked like his aunt. They also picked Jin as the MVP (most valuable person) for this skit. Finally, BTS RUN ended by showing us the behind the scene of the skit. Here, we can finally watch Jimin’s interaction with Suga female version that we couldn’t see in the skit.

All I can say that by watching this program, we can see another side of our idol other than in stage, where we can only see them dance and sing. It was also fun to watch them act like an actor and at the same time try to be funny.

V.Friends S3: Celebrating BTS 4th Anniversary in VLive

2017 is the 4th year of BTS after their debut on June 13th, 2013. Every year to celebrate their anniversary, they make an event called BTS Festa that starts from the beginning of June. It ends with the main event on June 13th by making a party like a mini concert.

Fortunately, for International fans like me who can’t attend their party in Korea, we can still watch it live because it was broadcasted by VLive. It has been already twice since last year that BTS’s anniversary celebration was being broadcasted by VLive.

Unlike the 3rd anniversary that the broadcasting was only available for VLive+, which you have to pay if you want to watch it, this year, for the 4th anniversary, BTS and Vlive were very generous to broadcast it on regular VLIve. So, a poor fan like me can happily watch it. lol.

Every anniversary, BTS always gives us many special performances that we’ve never seen before. For example for the opening of this year party, they played a short music video (MV) parody of Blood, Sweat, and Tears. The MV was made in their dorm and the scenes in the MV were made according to the roommates of BTS members in their dorm. This MV parody will lead BTS welcoming us to their party stage by singing Look at Here (여기 봐).

Since the theme for their 4th anniversary was Home Party, the stage was decorated looked like a home where you can see doors, windows, family photos and a piano. They even dressed with pajamas, so did their fans.

In this party, they will compete against each roommates to decide who the best roommate in BTS was. The competition consisted of quiz, mission, and unit performance. During quiz and mission segment, they sat according to the roommate and they even had the names. They were “R&V” for Rap Monster and V, “3J” (Sam J) for JHope, Jimin and Jungkook, and “SIN” for Suga and JIN.

After having fun watching their funny interactions during that segment, they played the video of their preparation for unit performance competition. How they named their roommate team and what would they perform in the party.

The first performance was Rapmon and V, who sang a song “4 O’clock”. The song itself was made by V and Rapmon and had been released on BTS Festa. Because the song was a mellow song, they sang very emotionally that made you feel blue.

After felt emotional, you’ll be amazed by the second performance of 3J. JHope, Jimin, and Jungkook would give you a heart attack by their powerful dancing. No wonder because they are also in charge of dance in the group.

On the third one, SIN roommate would shock you. Other than show something to look cool, they show us an extraordinary thing. They exchange their role in group. Suga who is in charge of rap, sang Jin’s solo song “Awake”, while Jin who is in charge of vocal, rapped Suga’s rap, “Never Mind”. This was so lit.

At the end of the party, BTS seems like didn’t want to us leaving without being amazed, fun, and became more love. They made special performances of Fire, Boy in Luv and Dope. Dressing in pink mechanic uniforms, they performed a child version of those three songs. The dances and melodies were so cute that you didn’t want the party to end soon.

Finally I can say, it was really such a wonderful party. It was like, in their anniversary, they gave the fans such wonderful gifts of being a group loved by their fans. May BTS keeps growing as the best group who give the best music for everyone. Happy 4th anniversary BTS and thank you VLive for broadcasting the party!

V.Friends S3: My TOP5 Favorite VLive

As I mentioned earlier in my previous posts about knowing VLive more, VLive has so many interesting contents that related to K-Culture. These K-Culture contents are really suitable for our hobby and daily need such as fashion, movie, classical music, and even drawing. So in this post I’ll introduce you my Top 5 VLive among K-Culture contents.

1. V Movie: Tom Holland and Jacob Batalon: Spiderman Homecoming

Spiderman: Homecoming movie has been released last week and attracts so many viewers till today. Tom Hollandand Jacob Batalon, the casts of the movie who portray as Peter Parker and Ned, Parker’s best friend were coming to South Korea and having an interview in VLive with my favorite Korean Singer and MC, Eric Nam.

I was so excited, knowing the casts having interview with Eric Nam in VLive. This interview was so fun. Eric Nam who was born in Atlanta and speaks fluent English brought the interview so smoothly. Tom and Jacob also enjoyed the interview, they were so relax, and had so much fun.

In this interview Tom and Jacob shared their experiences while filming Spiderman Homecoming and the moment when they having an audition in front of Robert Downey to get their roles. During the interview we could also see the bromance between these two casts as they teased and praised to each other’s efforts when filming and how the movie made them closed as best friend not only in the movie but also in the real life.

This VLive made me love the casts more and want to watch the movie again. lol.

2. Coniglio

For a past few months when I tried to make a fanart, I started to learn drawing again. When I opened my VApp and check on New timeline, I saw Coniglio channel having a live broadcasting about drawing. So I looked at into her channel andsaw that she has somany videos about the processing of her drawings. So I decided to follow her. And this channel become one of my favorite channels.

Instead of reviewingone video,I’ll just review this channel as a whole because all videos are almost same, show the processing of drawing. Even the names of all videos are also same. She named them as 마음에그려요<Draw in your mind>.

Conigliois a children illustrator and in Latin it means rabbit. To be honest I don’t know her real name but I do know from the VLive that she has been drawing for more than 10 years. She has a unique style in drawing. She didn’t draw the front side of the characters, but only the back side. In all her drawings, besides a girl or some girls, she also draws a rabbit. Maybe that’s why her nickname is Coniglio.

At first, I was afraid that the English subtitleon this channel is unavailable but luckily Coniglio can speak English. So while she was drawing, she will speakEnglish and Korean. When the classical music is on, she will start drawing with her simple tools that are a sketchbook, a mechanical pencil and an eraser. In Vlive  live broadcast, she draws the characters for around 1 to 2 hours from the very beginning. She may not teach us how to draw but she will just explain what she’ll draw. She also communicate to the viewers by responding all the comments she could read.

Unfortunately she didn’t show us the coloring processing like the cover of her thumbnail video. But she told us that she color it on Photoshop. I wish she would show us the processing of her coloring. Maybe I should send her email or say about it when she have a live broadcast again.

3. V Movie: Fantastic Journey to Oz

Even though I’m grown up, animated movie is still my favorite. Then I was attracted by the cover of an animated movie, so I clicked on it and Viola!! There are GFriend’s SinB and Yuju in the video. It turns out that they are the ambassadors of this animated movie Fantastic Journey to Oz.

Fantastic Journey to Oz is an animated movie based on the greatest children’s classic novel The Wizard of Oz. Instead of reinterpretation, this movie is kind of the sequel to the classic. The movie will be released the premier on July 20th 2017.

Since SinB and Yuju are the ambassadors of this movie, so they made VLive to introduce it. They introduced the characters briefly with the acrylic standees of each characters. Then they explained more by making some quizzes that has to be answered by the viewers in the commenting field. They will act cute and dance wave hand while sitting if the viewers have right answers. These cute ladies also made promise if the movie reach 1 million viewers they will do a cosplay related to the movie.

Unfortunately this movie will not aired in my country so I just looking forward to film in Korea and the promise they made. Hope they can make it.

4. V Classic :DITTO 10th anniversary -Ensemble DITTO

It’s like VLive offers all what you need for your lifestyle. Like they have V Classic channel for you who love classical music. And my favorite video of this channel is DITTO 10th anniversary - Ensemble DITTO. To celebrate their effort to bring this kind of genre to Korean audiences, Ensemble DITTO held an anniversary festival at Seoul Arts Center (SAC).

Before performing in SAC, they made a special appearance in VLive. Maybe we can say it’s like a showcase but I’m not so sure. In this one and a half hours long video, we will be entertained by their amazing skill in classical instruments such as violin, cello, bass, clarinet, and piano. And the songs they played are Passacalia, Clair de Lune, Guisganderie, Canzonetta, Waltz, and  Clarinet Quintet 1st movement.

Moreover, they also had talk sessions to know more about the members of Ensemble DITTO. Once again, we don’t have to be worry about the language. Since the members of this chamber group are not only from Korea, the members speak English during the sessions and VLive had also the interpreter for the MC and Korean audiences.

5. V Fashion:  MISS GEE COLLECTION 2017FW SHOW 백스테이지 LIVE by 뷰스타

Well, because fashion is one of our daily needs, Korean Fashion now become more popular. And this V Fashion channel shows us the Fashion World in Korean. My favorite in this channel is video by Yeonseon Unni and Jaz Unni. Although the quality of the video is not so good but the content is really nice.

Their video shows us more than just a fashion show (FW) when the models wear the awesome clothes in a catwalk. They show us the backstage in a FW and had some interviews with the models, stylists, and even the designer like the video when they attended Miss Gee Collection. So we can see how people prepare a FW.

Let's Know More About V LIVE: a Universe Wide Live Broadcasting

If you have been wondering about my two previous posts, about what V beauty and V Musical are and where they come from. This post will give you the explanation.

So, V Beauty and V Musical are two channels of so many channels that exist in V.Live. V.Live is a very popular broadcasting application among KPOP fans. This app is already downloaded by 35 Million in 249 countries.

In V.Live we can watch and follow our KPop Idol’s life by their videos. Usually every boyband and girlband in KPOP have their own channel that their fans can follow. Here KPOP Idols post videos about their daily activity, life style, and anything regarding their comeback. Even when they do a live broadcasting in real time, we can see them live and message them directly by commenting in the comment field. The Idol will also answer it during their live broadcast.

Just like other live app such Facebook live and Instagram live, V Live also have love button that we can press as many as possible to express our love to the video. But what makes V Live different is the Love shape that appear when we press it. In V Live, the two fingers Love shape that well known in Korea (thumbs and index finger) appears.

V Live in my opinion is an app that helps KPOP Idols and their fans to get closer to each other. Because not only by videos they also can interact by chats. There are columns Celeb and Fan where Idol and fans can share anything other than video such photos and texts. In Fan field fans also can share anything with other fans and Idols can also see it.

Another interesting thing in V.Live is in every channel we follow, there is a Level from 1 to 7 that measures our Chemi-Beat, which it means how often we open and watch the videos on that channel. To increase this level we just simply follow and watch more videos. Like in the 5th picture, it shows that my level in BTS channel is Level 6.

V Live provides us not only about KPOP contents, but also anything related to Hallyu such as Drama, Movie, Actor/actress’ live streaming, fashion, musical and beauty (like my previous posts). In V Drama channel there are so many interesting Web Drama posted here such as Entourage, Idol Operation Drama, etc. In Movie and Actor/Actress’ channel we can know more about their promotions, behind the scene, and also their thoughts during filming.

Since I am a BTS trash, my favorite channel in V Live is BTS channel. BTS always use this app to share every moment they had with their fans. For instance when they received an award from Billboard and when they are in world tour, they will make a live broadcast. Even in the moment they are about to release a new album, they also make a live broadcast to explain their the concept and their process in making it.

What makes me love BTS and V Live more is that every week there are programs namely BTS Gayo and BTS Run. Those programs play in approximately 20 minutes which BTS will play games about KPOP or following the missions. Last week they held BTS Home Party to celebrste BTS' 4th Anniversary. Moreover, within this week, they will release BTS Bon Voyage 2 that will show their journey in Hawaii, while the Bon Voyage 1 was in North Europe.

The videos in V Live are mostly free. We don’t need to pay, just register by our Naver, Line, Facebook, or Twitter account, we can have a V Live account. Despite of it, V Live also provides paid channel called V Live+ that marked with symbol CH+. V Live+ is a premium channel that we can get much more closer to our KPOP Idol. They usually post behind the scene about their project and the real chat to their fans. The cost also is affordable only USD2,99/Month and it will be cheaper if we subscribe for 3-month, 6 month, or a year.

Finally I can say, V Live really help us to get closer and know more about Hallyu and our KPOP Idols. We can enjoy V live both in our phone and our computer. In phone we can download it in Playstore or Apple store and we call it V App. For computer user, we just simply visit "http://vlive.tv" in our web browser.

Jadi Gini Ceritanya

Jadi gini ceritanya,
